Ok guys, we're back at it once again! The weekend that trumps all other weekends: Our 20th Men's Moab!
Please read through all of this info carefully and come ready for an awesome time in the desert!
We are making 1 ENORMOUS change this year, so get excited! In an effort to make this trip easier than it has been in the past AND to take it to the next level (but mostly to make it 100x easier for me), we are NOT going to be setting up a kitchen and cooking our meals. (This one change literally saves me and a few others about 14 hours of shopping, loading, unloading, setting up, tearing down, cleaning, reloading , and unloading (again), not to mention the cooking and cleaning aspect while at the campsite!) Instead, we'll be ordering breakfast burrito's from town both mornings, and will have two catered dinners (Pasta Jay's on Thursday and Moe's BBQ on Friday). AS FOR LUNCHES: we're going to provide meats, cheeses, and some fixings with tortillas, chips, various bars, fruit and snacks for the trail. BOOM! Drop Mic! NEXT LEVEL BABY!
We will be at the Lone Mesa Campsites again this year. We will have sites A, B, and C again. If you plan on staying a 3rd night (Saturday), you need to set up camp at site A.
As always, we'll officially begin with dinner at 6pm on Thursday night and we'll officially end Saturday morning after we pass out shirts and get a group pic. All of your meals will be taken care of between those 2 times.
Vince Miller, our speaker from last year, will be returning again! Not only was he great and all of you gave him awesome reviews, he really wanted to come back. When you compare this retreat with the usual retreat he does (inside a church where the likelihood of someone going to the hospital is nil VS outdoors in Moab, by a fire, possibly sitting next to a guy who is still bleeding from his over the handle bars mtn bike wreck OR wondering where some guys are who got lost on a mountain bike ride and ran out of water (ie Patrick Connolly, Michael Holton, Jason Landa, Matt Iverson) OR you can smell spilled gas from dirt bikes on the guy next to you) he almost paid us to come back. :-)
DIRECTIONS TO LONE MESA: From Hwy 191 go to the intersection with Hwy 313. Turn west on Hwy 313 and drive eight miles then turn right on the Dubinky Road and go approximately 200 yards to the campground entrance road. Turn right and proceed up a small hill to the site.
